Guidelines for Molecular Testing
April 20, 2008: GENDIA started publishing a series of GUIDELINES FOR MOLECULAR TESTING of heterogeneous diseases that may be caused by mutations in multiple genes.
A multitude of genes have been implicated in diseases like deafness, retinitis pigmentosa, Parkinson syndrome, Charcot Marie Tooth  disease, mental retardation, spastic paraplegia,...
As clinical geneticists usually do not know the mutation frequency of each of these genes nor the price to analyse these genes, diagnostic testing does not follow the optimal flow chard in many cases.
With regular intervals GENDIA will post such guidelines on our website.
The first guideline on DEAFNESS is available now.
